Both Around Me and This Weekend let you sort events by distance, price, and date to further fine tune events. This Weekend showcases only those events falling on Saturday and Sunday-extremely useful for those who work traditional Monday-Friday schedules. Around Me helped me dig up events near my home which included a cookout and a cystic fibrosis fundraiser. You can streamline Discover searches with the Around Me and This Weekend filters. I liked Eventbrite's provided information, but Yelp-like venue photos would help complete the experience. You can view a description, event hours, distance from your current location, and a Google Map image. Tapping a panel, say New York City's The Governors Ball Music Festival 2013, opens the event listing. The location-aware Eventbrite displays a list of upcoming events in your area using large, eye-catching, vertically stacked panels which you scroll through to find something of interest.
